Everything you need to know to get the most out of pointup.

Bulk Import

Bring an existing product list into pointup from a spreadsheet. Nothing is saved until you have checked a preview.

Prepare Your Spreadsheet

One product per row; a name and price are enough. pointup also reads SKU, barcode, cost, description, unit, stock quantity and low-stock alert, and recognizes everyday headings such as "Product Name". Excel, CSV, TSV and OpenDocument files up to 10 MB and 5,000 rows work; split a bigger catalog into several files. In a workbook with several sheets, pointup imports the one with the name and price columns and names the sheets it skipped in the preview.

Tip: Format SKU or barcode columns as text so leading zeros are kept, or start from the template on the import screen.

Upload the File

In Items, select the upload icon beside Add Item and drop in your file.

Import from Clover

On the import screen, select Import from Clover. Open your Clover dashboard, go to Items then Item list, choose Export from the ⋮ menu, and drop the downloaded file back in. Names, prices, costs, SKUs, barcodes and stock come across.

When a File Is Not Accepted

If pointup can't use a file, the reason appears under the drop area and stays there until you choose another file. The regular upload and the Clover steps behave the same way. Fix the file, or split it if it has too many rows, then drop it in again.

Check the Preview

Rows that are ready are separated from rows that need fixing, each with a plain-language reason. Correct the file and upload it again. Category, location and tax choices are made in pointup after the file is read.
