Everything you need to know to get the most out of pointup.

Online

Publish a pickup store from your catalog, choose how customers pay, and approve and fulfil their orders from one Online menu.

Pickup windows use the business timezone, not the customer’s device timezone. Their clock format follows workspace time preferences.

Turn On Online Ordering

Open Online from the sidebar (More → Online on mobile). Before it is enabled, the introduction card is centered in the page and explains the setup, and the sidebar keeps the main menu. Choose Set up online ordering, then choose where to start. The storefront stays unpublished.

Choose Where to Start

Pick Take pickup orders to open Online Settings, where you choose pickup locations and publish the store. Pick Design my store first to open the store designer and preview a look before anything goes public. Turn on online ordering switches it on and the sidebar changes to the Online menu, where the other path is always one click away.

Loading Online Pages

Online pages show their real heading, actions and controls immediately, with loading placeholders only for content still loading—no spinner or fade-in delay. The public shop shows your name, cover, saved design and theme/language controls as soon as the business profile arrives, without waiting for the catalog and pickup data. A failed load offers Try again instead of claiming the store is empty.

Publish Your Online Store

In Online → Online Settings, turn the store on to publish it; the change saves instantly. The full store link appears below the switch with buttons to copy it or open it in a new tab, and stays disabled while the store is hidden. From there you can also open the store designer. Choose which locations offer pickup below that. A pickup location alone does not publish the store.

Pickup Locations

Each location shows whether it is visible online, its address and how many items are ready for pickup there. Use its switch to show or hide it on the store; an inactive location says Activate first and cannot be switched on. Select a card to see the items customers can order there: items available at all locations plus items assigned to it, with price and stock. Select an item to open it. The counter at the top shows how many active locations are enabled.

Design Your Store

Online → Customize opens the design studio. Choose Classic, Boutique or Market by clicking its preview or using the arrow keys. The selected layout has a soft gray background, without a radio dot or badge. Themes adapt to phones and light/dark mode, keeping your items, hero text and featured picks. A customized design stays unchanged with no layout highlighted until you choose one. Large screens show a live store preview below.

Edit Your Cover Image

In Online → Customize, the Cover image card sits below the themes, without opening the section builder. Upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB, then reposition and zoom the wide 16:9 crop. Use Replace cover image to choose another photo or Remove cover image to return to a text-only hero. The shop cover is separate from your business logo and profile gallery, and stays when you change themes.

Shop cover image controlsLive component · preview only

Uploading does not change the live shop. Choose Publish design to save your new cover or its removal; Discard restores the published image. Publishing waits until the upload finishes. The cover appears above your logo and introduction on phones and desktops. Cover previews stay still on hover, without a zoom animation.

Arrange Store Sections

Choose Customize below the themes to edit the page. The hero always comes first: set its headline (up to 100 characters, or leave it empty to use your business name) and an intro. Add a section adds a header, text, a wide image or a divider, up to 12 in total; each has its own fields, left or centered alignment, and a remove button. Featured items and the item catalog are built in and cannot be removed, but the featured section can be hidden. Drag a section by its handle to lift it and drop it in a new position, or use the up and down buttons.

Publish or Discard a Design

Changes stay in the designer until you choose Publish design; the bar at the top shows whether you have unpublished changes. Discard returns to the published design after you confirm. Leaving the page with unpublished changes asks first. If publishing fails, your changes stay so you can try again. View live store opens your public store in a new tab. You can publish a design while the store is hidden; customers see it once you turn the store on. Team members without online management permission see the designer read-only.

Category Navigation

Your store keeps category selection at the bottom of the screen on phones and desktops. Each category shows its product count for the selected pickup location. Swipe the row or use its scroll arrows to see more categories; tapping one jumps to its section below the header. The highlight follows the section customers are viewing. On phones, the cart button appears below the categories in the same bar, so neither control covers the other. Use the arrow keys, then Enter to jump with a keyboard. Click the logo or business name in the header to return to the top.

Store category barLive component · preview only

Categories and counts come from the items shown at that pickup location, with no empty categories. Named groups follow the catalog order and uncategorized products appear under General at the end. Each category stays its own group, even when two share a name or one is called General, and a category limited to other locations still appears when its products are sold here. Sold-out products still count when shown in the catalog; counts are products, not stock units. Assign products to categories to keep large catalogs easy to browse. PointUp does not guess or change saved categories from product names.

Product Cards

Roomy product cards use fewer columns when space is tight. Landscape frames are taller, and all photos fit without cropping or zooming. Available cards gently change colour on hover or press, without a top stripe, lifting or moving their names. Keyboard focus adds a clear outline; reduced-motion preferences turn off the transition. Select a photo or name to open the product page.

Product Pages

Each product opens on its own page with a large photo, the price (per kilogram for items sold by weight), the description and any options to choose. A Details panel shows availability at the chosen pickup location, including how many are left when tracked stock runs low, which other pickup locations have it, whether it is sold by piece or kilogram, its category and its SKU. The page has its own link, so the browser's back button and Back to store return customers to the same place in your catalog.

More From the Same Category

Below each product, customers see up to eight other products from the same category, with sold-out items last. If a product is the only one in its category, the page suggests other products from your store instead. Selecting a suggestion opens its product page.

Add to Cart Bar

A bar pinned to the bottom of every product page holds the quantity stepper and Add to cart with the line total, and explains what is missing when an option must be chosen or the item is sold out. Once the cart has items, the bar also shows the cart count and total, which opens the cart, and a Checkout button that goes straight to checkout. Adding an item keeps customers on the page so they can keep browsing.

How Customers Check Out

Customers pick a pickup location, add items, and check out on one page with three numbered steps: pickup, contact details and payment. They tap a pickup day (the calendar button covers later dates) and a time window, enter their name and phone with an optional note, pick how to pay, then press Place order after checking the payment confirmation box. Anything missing is highlighted in place, and phones keep the order total pinned at the bottom.

Confirm the Payment Method

After choosing a payment method, customers must check I confirm that I will pay using… before placing the order. The box starts unchecked and names the selected method. Changing the method clears the confirmation, including when switching back to an earlier choice. This applies to online payments and cash/card at pickup.

Required payment-method confirmationLive component · preview only

The confirmation records a payment choice, not a transfer or proof of funds. Online customers still pay after approval and upload proof.

Orders

Online → Orders lists every order in sections by status, each with its count. A row shows the order reference, status, total, customer, number of items and when it was placed; select it to open the order. Use the share button to copy your store link, and the info button to see what each status means. If you take CAD or PLN and have not added an online payment method, a note links to Payments; customers can still pay in person without it.

Order Statuses

Pending

The customer placed the order. Approve or decline it.

Confirmed

You approved it. Prepare it for pickup; a customer paying online still has to pay.

Payment submitted

The customer uploaded proof of an online payment. Check it before fulfilling.

Ready

Packed and waiting for the customer to collect.

Completed

Picked up and closed. Only completed orders count as sales.

Declined

You rejected it before approving.

Cancelled

Called off after it was approved.

Filter Online Orders

Filter by status, payment, location, order date or pickup date. Order date is the day the customer placed the order in your local time; pickup date is the day they selected for collection. Combine them if needed, or use Clear to remove every filter. Filters are kept in the address bar, so a filtered list can be bookmarked or shared with your team.

Arrange Order Sections

Open Section settings (the button beside the info button) to hide sections or change their order. Drag a section by its handle and release it in the highlighted position; on touch screens, use the same handle. Focus a handle and press the up or down arrow key to reorder without dragging. The switches only change which sections appear; order statuses are not changed. If every matching order is hidden, the list offers to open the settings or reset them.

Live Order Updates

Online → Orders and each order detail page check for updates automatically every 15 seconds while visible, and when you return to the page. You can also reload the page yourself. If a check fails, the last known orders stay visible until the next successful check. If the list cannot load at all, the page says so and offers Try again rather than showing an empty list.

Approve and Fulfil Orders

New orders arrive as pending, each with a unique reference, whether or not Telegram is connected. Approve or Decline each one from its detail page. Approving is not the same as being paid: customers paying online then send the exact amount with that reference and upload proof on their order page.

Only Cancel is available until the customer submits proof.

Once proof arrives, or straight away for orders paid in person at pickup, use Mark ready when the order is packed and Complete when it is collected. The arrow beside Mark ready completes it in one step.

Tip: An uploaded file does not prove the money arrived. Match its reference, amount and customer against your account before marking the order ready. Completed orders appear in Sales History.

Order Details

The detail page shows the status, the customer's name, phone and email, when the order was placed, the pickup location, each item with its options, price and quantity, the total, the payment method with a link to the uploaded proof, the pickup day and time, and the customer's note.

Cancel an Order

After approving, choose Cancel on the order and confirm. The customer is notified. Declined, cancelled and completed orders have no further actions.

Online Payments

Customers can always choose to pay in person, by cash or card, at pickup; nothing needs setting up for that. Online → Payments offers Canadian bank transfers, Interac e-Transfer and Wise for Canadian stores charging in CAD. Polish stores charging in PLN have bank transfer, BLIK, Revolut and Wise. BLIK, Revolut and Polish bank transfer are not offered in Canadian settings or checkout. The chip beside the title shows whether extra methods are added or the store is in-person only. Other currencies remain in-person only.

Online payment methods (sample data)Live component · preview only

Interac e-Transfer in Canada

First register your recipient email for Interac Autodeposit with your Canadian bank. In Online → Payments, turn on Interac e-Transfer, enter the recipient name shown by your bank and the Autodeposit email, then choose Save payment settings. Turning it off keeps your details but removes it from checkout.

Canadian payment settings (sample data)Live component · preview only

Customers send the exact CAD total in their banking app, verify the Autodeposit recipient, include the order reference as the message, and upload confirmation. If the recipient differs or Autodeposit is unavailable, they should contact you before paying. PointUp does not transfer money or collect security answers.

Tip: Payment proof is not automatic settlement. Check your bank account before fulfilling the order; see Approve and Fulfil Orders. For cashier-recorded transfers, enable Interac under Checkout Payment Methods separately.

Canadian Bank Transfers

For a CAD store, open Online → Payments → Set up bank transfer. Search by bank name or institution number and choose the bank holding your receiving account. The picker includes RBC, TD, BMO, Scotiabank, CIBC, National Bank, Desjardins (Quebec), Tangerine, Simplii, ATB and Laurentian, with their logos. Choose Another Canadian bank or credit union if yours is not listed.

Tip: Bank selection does not guarantee transfer support. Confirm that your bank accepts the domestic CAD payments you intend to receive. Many personal banking apps offer Interac rather than an EFT to someone else’s account. This setup is not for international wires.

Canadian Account Details

Continue to enter the account holder name, the 3-digit institution number, 5-digit branch transit and 7–12 digit account number from your bank-issued void cheque or direct-deposit form. Keep leading zeros. Listed banks prefill their institution number; for another bank, enter its name and institution number yourself. Add bank-confirmed instructions explaining how customers can send the payment. Never enter banking passwords, PINs or security answers.

Canadian receiving account (fictional example)Live component · preview only

Continue to review the real customer card, including an example CAD amount and order reference. Use Edit account details or Back to correct it. Save and enable bank transfer saves this account separately from Interac and Wise and makes Bank transfer available at checkout. Format validation does not verify ownership or receiving capability.

Edit or Remove a Canadian Account

The saved card shows your bank’s logo, account holder and last four account digits. Choose Edit bank transfer to update and review the account. Remove bank transfer clears the Canadian account and removes the option from checkout without changing Interac or Wise. Existing unpaid orders using it will need your help if the account is removed.

Pay a Canadian Bank Account

After you approve an order, customers who chose Bank transfer see the bank logo and copyable account holder, institution, transit, account number, CAD amount and order reference, followed by your instructions. They should contact you before sending if their bank does not support the transfer. Canadian transfers do not use the Polish account format or QR code.

Customers upload confirmation after paying. You must verify actual receipt before fulfilling; see Approve and Fulfil Orders. Uploading proof does not automatically complete the order.

Wise Payments

For Canadian CAD and Polish PLN stores, enable Wise under Online → Payments, enter your Wise business payment link, personal payment link or @Wisetag, then choose Save payment settings. Use a Wise account and link that can receive your store currency. A personal Wisetag accepts payments from Wise users; a business link offers the payment options supported by your Wise account.

Wise recipient linkLive component · preview only

The customer link includes the order total, CAD or PLN as appropriate, and the order reference. Customers upload proof after paying, and you verify receipt before fulfilling. Switching Wise off removes it from checkout but keeps the saved link.

BLIK, Revolut and Wise

BLIK and Revolut are for Polish PLN stores only. For both CAD and PLN, see Wise Payments.

BLIK

Turn it on and enter the Polish phone number customers send the payment to; it is saved with +48.

Revolut

Enter your username, with or without @. Customers open a Revolut payment prefilled with the total and order reference.

Choose Save payment settings to apply BLIK, Revolut and Wise; bank transfer saves on its own. Switching Revolut or Wise off keeps the saved details, so switching it back on restores them.

Receive Bank Transfers

In Online → Payments, choose Set up bank transfer, pick your Polish bank, enter the recipient name and 26-digit account number, add the recipient address, and review the card customers will see. The recipient name starts as your account name. If the account number belongs to a different bank than the one you picked, setup offers to switch. Edit or remove a saved account from its card.

How Customers Pay

After placing an order, customers see its reference and a link to their order page, where they can follow its status. Once you approve, customers who chose an online method pay there, using the reference as the payment title, and upload a confirmation file; the order then moves to Payment submitted. Customers paying in person just mention the reference at pickup.

What Customers See

Customers paying by Polish bank transfer see your bank, copyable account details, and a QR code their banking app can scan to prefill the amount and order reference. For CAD, see Pay a Canadian Bank Account.

Telegram Order Alerts

Online → Integrations lets you optionally connect a Telegram chat for new order alerts with Approve and Decline actions. Orders still arrive in the dashboard without Telegram. Open the bot and press Start to finish linking; the page checks automatically while you wait. You can refresh the status or disconnect later. Appointment alerts use a separate connection in Appointments.
