Select a photo or name for details, or the + beside the price to add an item.
1

Build the cart

Add items with +; products with variations ask for options first. Filter by category tab, and adjust quantities in the cart.

2

Add the extras (optional)

Apply a percentage or fixed discount to an item or the whole order, and link a customer to add the sale to their history.

3

Take payment

Choose Pay and the payment method. The sale is recorded once payment completes.

Scan with a Camera

Choose Scan camera in the floating mobile control or desktop search panel and allow camera access. Point your phone or desktop camera at one EAN, UPC or Code 128 barcode. A matching item is added automatically; items with variations ask you to choose options first.

The camera stops after one read. Choose Scan camera again for the next item. Closing the scanner, leaving checkout or switching away from the tab also stops the camera. Images are decoded on your device, not uploaded. Camera access requires HTTPS and browser permission; if unavailable, use manual entry.

Automatic USB/Bluetooth Scanning

Connect a scanner in keyboard mode and configure it to send Enter after each barcode. Keep Checkout open and active, then scan: no field click is needed. A matching product goes straight into the cart, or opens its variation choices. Each scan adds the item once, subject to available stock.

Automatic scanning recognizes rapid bursts of at least four characters. It pauses while you edit a field, use a dialog or drawer, or move past the desktop cart into details or payment. It does not capture scans on other pages or in background tabs. Ordinary typing and keyboard shortcuts remain available.

If your scanner sends short codes or has a slower typing delay, choose Barcode, focus the field and scan there instead. On mobile, open Search first. Codes that are unknown or shared by multiple available products show a message without adding an item.

Manual & Scanner Entry

Switch the search field to Barcode, type the full code and choose Add or press Enter. You can also focus this field for scanners that need the manual-entry fallback. Each successful submission adds the item once and clears the field for the next scan. For hands-free scanning, see automatic USB/Bluetooth scanning.

Barcode entry matches full codes, including equivalent leading-zero forms, regardless of catalog search or category filters. Unknown or duplicate codes show a message without adding an item. Location availability and stock limits still apply; if stock is updating, try again when it finishes.

Set up codes in the item barcode guide.

Desktop & Mobile Checkout

On desktop, the cart stays to the right of the catalog within the available workspace height. Drag its left edge to resize it, or focus the divider and use the arrow keys. The catalog and cart scroll independently so a long product list does not push checkout below the page.

On mobile and smaller tablets, a full-width checkout button shows the item count and total in its own bar above the bottom navigation and phone safe area. It stays visible while the catalog scrolls, separate from the floating scanner. Tap it to review the cart and continue through details and payment in a bottom drawer. An empty cart shows Keypad for a custom-amount sale.

Sales History

Owners also see completed events in this history. Choose the Events source to isolate them; each event row opens its request, not an in-person receipt. See completing an event and the Events report for the revenue rules.

Filter

Narrow the list by date, payment method or location.

Details

Each record lists the items, taxes, discounts and payment.

Void a sale

Void an in-person sale from its detail page. The record and your reason stay visible.

Online orders

Online orders are approved and fulfilled in Online and appear here once completed.

A Sale in Detail

Select a sale to open its receipt-style page: status, payment method, total and time, then the subtotal, tax, discount and total. For some methods the payment detail is labelled for what it is, such as the Reference of a mobile payment or the Linked bank of a transfer. Below it, cards link to the location, the team member who sold it, the customer and every item sold with its quantity and price.

Void a Sale

A completed in-person sale has a Void button. Confirming opens a dialog where you can add a reason. The sale stays in the history, marked Voided with the time and your reason, and it is listed under Voided Payments in the Sales report. Only completed sales can be voided.
